Microneedling works in three simple steps, designed to activate the skin’s natural healing process. 

1. Inflammationn - Microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface, triggering a natural immune response to disinfect, remove debris, increase blood flow, and activate the creation of new tissue

2. Proliferation - The micro-channels or tiny holes are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

All patients will be administered a topical anesthetic before receiving microneedling treatments. Although pain is minimal, the topical helps minimize discomfort and allows for easy administration of the treatment.  Due to the anesthetics provided, most patients feel no pain or discomfort during their treatments.

Before your treatment, you will have a one-on-one consultation with a Skinvana Medspa specialist. This one-on-one time is vital for safe and satisfying aesthetic results. During this appointment, we will examine your skin and review your medical history. We will explain the procedure, and what to expect from the treatment. If our assessment determines that Microneedling  is right for you, a unique treatment plan will be created  and you can begin your treatment regime immediately after your consultation. 

Downtime is minimal but also depends on location of treatment. Initial skin tightening and pore reduction can be seen immediately. After the treatment your skin will be reddened like sun burn but you should be able to return to work the next business day. However A sunblock is highly recommended, especially during the first few weeks after each treatment.

Microneedling treatments take about 60 mins. Single treatment results are seen 4-6 weeks after treatment with most treatment areas requiring 3-6 treatments for full effect. Treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart depending on level of treatment and healing time.. 

Results can last from 6 months to 3 years. This treatment can be performed on anyone between the ages of 16 and 60+. It is truly a treatment for anyone..
